Benji the bunny makes friends at Chawley Grove

It didn't take long before newcomer on the block, bunny Benji, made himself comfortable at Chawley Grove Care Home.

The friendly ball of fluff who is owned by staff member Shanthi Ramachandran, a kitchen assistant, booked himself in for a two week stay at the Oxford home – enjoying all the luxuries on offer.

And Benji, as a gentle soul, loves nothing more than sitting on a nice warm lap and being stroked.

Regional Community Relations Lead Mark Laundy said: “It is so lovely to welcome Benji into our Chawley Grove family for the next two weeks.

“We are an animal friendly home what with our home dog, Winnie, and my dog, Mini coming for occasional visits too!

“It shows the strong team bond we have here, we genuinely are one big family.

“I think a lot of people don’t realise that bringing pets with them to care homes is an option, but it is always worth asking the question!”

The home’s Happiness Officer Winnie, the golden retriever joined the home staff in April, and has given the seal of approval to the new temporary cuddly resident.
