Residents and team members at Cofton Park Manor came together this June to celebrate Pride Month with an uplifting afternoon filled with music, colour and joy.
The home was transformed into a vibrant celebration of individuality, inclusion and self-expression as residents enjoyed a special Pride event featuring live entertainment from singer Debbie Miles. Her energetic performance had everyone singing along, dancing and sharing in the festive atmosphere.
The celebration provided an opportunity for residents to embrace the Pride Month message that everyone should feel safe, valued and able to be themselves. Throughout the afternoon, residents enjoyed meaningful conversations, laughter and plenty of colourful decorations, creating a warm and welcoming environment for all.
Resident Adrianne Oats, aged 82, said: “What a wonderful way to celebrate our individuality. We all had such a lovely time.”
At Cofton Park Manor, creating an inclusive community where residents feel accepted, respected and empowered to express themselves is at the heart of daily life. The Pride celebration reflected the home's commitment to equality, diversity and ensuring everyone feels a true sense of belonging.
Gail Bessent, Wellbeing Coach at Cofton Park Manor, said: “It’s good to see that our residents can express themselves and feel safe to be who they are happy to be.”
The event was a wonderful reminder of the importance of celebrating diversity and fostering a culture of kindness, acceptance and community.
