High quality care, regulated & reviewed

My mother entered from hospital with very limited mobility, struggling to get about with a Zimmer frame and with no desire to eat. The staff have been excellent in encouraging her to build up her strength and confidence. She now walks freely and dances with the visiting entertainers! The staff's careful monitoring of her nutritional intake has also been enormously beneficial.

She is now having a healthy diet and cannot believe me when I recall what a poor state she was in when she entered the care home 6 months ago. She feels it is a really supportive and friendly place to be and thoroughly enjoys all the activities that she can join in with.

Mum became a resident at Charrington Manor in August 2023. Such a big change can be difficult but she was warmly welcomed and a lot of effort from everyone has helped Mum settle in and become part of the Charrington family. Mum has been at Charrington Manor for 12 months. I visited many care homes on Mum's behalf prior to finding Charrington Manor - as soon as I arrived I experienced an enormous sense of relief thinking 'this is the one'. I met with Regional Community Relations Lead who took time in showing me around and explaining the philosophy of the home and the Homemakers who would be caring for and supporting Mum (Mum was in hospital at the time, so could not look herself, so I felt a huge responsibility and was immediately put at ease).

The physical and social environment felt light, modern, warm and homely and this has proved to be the case. Very importantly, it has a beautiful garden which has been in full use over the summer by many of the residents and my mum included. The Homemakers at Charrington know Mum's needs and preferences well and are always kind, thoughtful, gentle and attentive. There is a high level of communication in various mediums 24 hours a day, essential and highly re-assuring. A massive thank you!

My mother has been at Charrington Manor for nearly 18 months. Initially, my father was there but died peacefully at the age of 101. The care and support for him were outstanding, and then the subsequent care for my mother is exemplary. So many of the staff go well above and beyond the job requirements.

The activities that are provided every day are fantastic and it's great to see so many smiling faces at these events. My mother is not a big fan, but no pressure is applied and she is allowed to attend the events she wants to. I really can't fault the care and the facilities.

Charrington Manor is a wonderful care home. My mother-in law-is very happy. Loves all the staff, who treat her like royalty. She was very down after a major cancer operation and her daughters worried that she wouldn’t be happy! She is fully recovered and the family is delighted with the care and attention she receives every day. The twinkle in her eyes has returned. There is an activity every day and she loves meal times. Charrington is a top care home with top people. Thank you to everyone.

My father has been a resident at Charrington Manor since January 2023. Every member of staff works so hard and are always so cheery, I cannot thank them enough for all their kindness and support they give to my dad and us as a family, at what is an emotional time for us all. The home is beautiful, bright

and uplifting, with a lovely garden. Lots of hard work goes into arranging different activities and outside entertainers for the residents. Dad really enjoys the food, which is always presented beautifully! It is also reassuring to know that nurses are on hand if needed. I cannot recommend Charrington Manor enough and wouldn’t want Dad to be anywhere else.

We could not be happier with the care and attention our Mum gets at Charrington Manor. It was a minefield choosing a care home but I just got that feeling the minute I walked in. The staff are incredible - caring beyond words. Walking in yesterday to see 50 smiling faces being entertained by a singer and the staff dancing with some of the residents was so heartwarming. My Mum has been there for 5 months now and has settled in now enjoying all the activities on offer. There is always a happy atmosphere - as I say to my Mum it is like a 5* hotel. We couldn't be happier.

My mother, with moderate to advanced stage Alzheimer's, has been a resident at Charrington Manor since the end of June 2023. The care, support and thoughtfulness to my mother, and also to me and my siblings in managing this incredibly difficult time for us personally, has just been outstanding.

The wonderful staff have been with us every step of the way. My mother is now really settled, has made some lovely friends and joins in lots of the excellent activities. We are so grateful to the Charrington Manor team for their incredible care and professionalism.

Lovely staff and a beautiful building and garden. It’s the extra details that make such a difference; white linen table cloths and napkins, delicious food and drinks, comfy lounges, high ceilings and airy rooms. The cinema and hair and nail salon are excellent. Mum loves the variety of the afternoon live entertainment, especially the opportunities to dance and the opera singer. Staff don’t just help the residents, they constantly engage with them and spend time talking to them. Their kindness and warmth makes for a welcoming and happy home.

Both of my parents are residents. They have very different needs and Charrington Manor has been able to provide outstanding care to both of them enabling them to remain together. Charrington Manor is well-designed, the facilities are all new and it is possible to have both privacy and an active social life with other residents.

Key to any successful care home is the staff and they have recruited an amazing team who really care about the residents. My mother was very ill when she arrived and the team have managed through patience and kindness to give her a much better quality of life than was expected. The food is generally good and the menus are varied. There is a real feel of community and activity - lots of visitors and well-chosen entertainment. I am delighted that my parents have settled so well and it's a relief that they are getting round-the-clock care appropriate to their needs.
