Name Brian The Cockerel Ruffles A Few Feathers At Birmingham Care Home

A feathered visitor caused quite a stir when he strutted into a Cofton Hackett care home delighting residents with his cocky antics.

Brian the cockerel, visiting from The Animal Pantry in Astwood Bank, quickly made himself at home when he stopped by Cofton Park Manor Care Home in Lickey Road.

He hopped onto laps and happily posed for photos as he soaked up plenty of attention.

Resident Molly Giles, aged 89, was delighted with her special guest. She said: “I loved the experience of giving Brian the cockerel a cuddle. The colours of his feathers were so beautiful.”

Brian wasn’t the only star of the afternoon. He was joined by a menagerie of animals including rabbits, guinea pigs, and even five-week-old lambs, alongside donkeys Jono, Dolly and Nessy.

Fellow resident Barbara Wild, aged 77, said feeding the lambs was a highlight. “I love animals,” she added.

Community Relations Manager Wendy Sibley said the visit had brought joy to everyone involved.

She said: “Our lovely residents, friends, families and visitors had a fabulous afternoon with the animals. We all had a wonderful experience, and we hope Brian visits again soon!”
