Plaque dedicated to HRH the Late Queen Elizabeth II

Residents and colleagues at Verwood House Care Home have made a heartfelt tribute to the UK’s longest serving monarch.

Everyone at the home decided they wanted to create a permanent place where residents could quietly pay tribute to the late Queen.

And they have now decided to proudly display a specially made plaque with the words, ‘In Memory of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II 1926-2022.’

Verwood’s Wellbeing & Lifestyle Coach Emilia Turner said: “It just meant so much to all the residents here who loved our Queen here at Verwood.”

The plaque will be given pride of place in the home garden where it will be surrounded by newly planted trees and flowers.

Residents and staff have also planted flowers and flower bulbs ready for spring which will make the garden look extra colourful.

Another special feature is the new bird bath which has been placed alongside the plaque.

Verwood House residents spent the day of the Queen’s funeral, which was a Bank Holiday, watching the proceedings on the big screen, along with friends and family.
