Over 200 people joined residents at a Sevenoaks care home for a summer mix of cocktails, music and magic to celebrate the season.
Nesbit House Care Home, in Badgers Mount, was filled with revellers as colleagues hosted a summer soiree that saw the bistro transformed into a cocktail bar.
The entertainment came courtesy of singers Emily Wright and Andy Mace, and magician Michael McIntyre, who performed close-up table magic and a stage show.
Residents and visitors were full of praise for the efforts made to ensure that the summer party was spectacular.
Caroline Thomas, whose mum is a resident at Nesbit House, said: “Thank you to everyone, as there must have been so much hard work going on in the background in preparation. Everything looked incredible, and the food was delicious! My mum had such a lovely day - it was so great to see her being so excited beforehand, and also smiling throughout.”
Wellbeing Lead Iestyn Gadd and his colleagues masterminded the event, including the cocktail bar, which his twin brother Cy helped to run.
They were keen to ensure that everybody got to enjoy a true sunshine celebration in Nesbit House’s beautiful gardens.
Iestyn said: “It’s always a true team effort to pull off a big event, so thank you to everyone who contributed towards the day. We were amazed by how many people joined in from the Sevenoaks community, and the home was buzzing with conversation, laughter and song. It was nice to welcome my brother Cy back as he used to work here, so lots of residents and colleagues know him.
We had a great time and are looking forward to creating more summer memories in the next couple of months.”
