A musical trip to the 1950s set the tone for a fun-packed summer fete at an Eastleigh care home and raised money for a worthy cause.
The team at Alston House Care Home, on Leigh Road, booked local rockers Little Dave and the Sun Sessions to create a vintage vibe, as residents and their loved ones hit the dancefloor.
As the rock ‘n’ roll tunes rang out, revellers feasted on barbecue food, with balloon modelling and face-painting laid on for the younger guests.
Visitor Carol Thompson said: “It was a totally amazing day and we had a fantastic time!
“The staff were wonderful and the group of singers were fantastic too. I still can’t believe I won the ‘guess the weight of the cake’ competition!”
The competition, along with a raffle and craft stalls, was held to help raise money for a local charity close to the team’s hearts.
They were able to give the £150 donation to the Southampton Hospitals Charity following the fete.
Wellbeing Lead Kelly-Marie Adams said: “It was great to see so many family and friends arriving to celebrate with us at the summer fete.
“The day couldn’t have gone better – and Little Dave and the Sun Sessions got everyone dancing.
“We are delighted that we were able to raise money for charity while enjoying ourselves, so thanks to everyone who helped make the day so memorable.”
