Memories of motherhood brought joy to residents at a local care home when they got the chance to cradle babies during a heartwarming lullaby session.
Jenny Smith, who lives at Lovell Place Care Home, on Sparrowbill Way, was overjoyed to cuddle the tiny tots as part of an intergenerational singing session.
Patchway mums brought their babies in for the event, run by Alive Activities, and let the residents hold the infants as part of a lullaby circle.
Jenny, aged 83, said: “It was so lovely to hold the babies. I have three sons and it brings back so many memories of when they were little.”
During the heartwarming session, the group sang classic lullaby songs, many of which the residents had sung to their own children.
Lovell Place Home Ambassador Jasmine Wareham said that spending time with the babies meant the world to the residents.
Jasmine said: “It was so moving to see the residents cuddling these adorable babies - it’s like the years melted away. Many of the residents are mums, but it’s been a lot of years since they were cradling their own little ones. We know that when generations spend time together, it is a wonderful boost for everyone’s wellbeing. There’s no doubt that this session left everyone feeling happy and uplifted!”
