A joyful summer fete helped a big-hearted Bristol care home team raise vital funds for the Great Western Air Ambulance Charity.
Lovell Place Care Home on Sparrowbill Way hosted over 300 people at its seasonal community event, soundtracked by talented local musicians.
The Mini Massive Sax Flextet put on a toe-tapping show in the gardens, as the chef team laid on a barbecue feast, ice cream treats and plenty of refreshments.
Residents, their loved ones and local people joined forces to enjoy the merriment and raise money for an excellent cause.
Lovell Place Home Ambassador Jasmine Wareham said: “This was our biggest summer fete yet and we are thrilled to have raised £400 for this brilliant charity.
“So many people from our team and the local community came together to make this a huge success, and so enjoyable for the residents and guests alike. Thank you to everyone who got involved.”
Guests were invited to browse stalls from the Bristol Dementia Action Alliance, BRACE Dementia Research, Natalie Palmer Jewellery and Patchway Men’s Shed.
There was also a human fruit machine in action from Me Time Café Bristol, and more music from Jo & John from the It Takes Two singing duo.
Resident Judith Brown, aged 78, said: “It’s lovely to have so many people enjoying the day with us - I enjoyed singing and dancing along to the lovely band. It’s nice that we could make money for the air ambulance as we see them fly over our garden a lot.”
