The farm came to the living room as a group of cute spring lambs trotted into our care home in Verwood - sparking laughter and cuddles.
The fluffy guests from Em’s Friendly Farm quickly stole the show, as residents at Verwood House Care Home gathered to meet, cuddle and even help feed the gorgeous animals.
The visit transformed our home into a lively springtime scene, with plenty of “oohs” and “aahs” from residents.
Resident Colin Carter, aged 90, said: “It’s not every day you find lambs trotting into your living room. We thought it was wonderful. They were so calm and well-behaved and incredibly soft! I could have stayed there cuddling them all afternoon.”
The hands-on visit gave residents the chance to interact closely with the lambs, from feeding them to gently stroking their fleecy coats. For many, it sparked fond memories of countryside life and springtime on the farm.
Resident Shirley Wiggins, aged 89, said: “They were just so sweet and full of character. Watching them hop about and nuzzle in for attention was such fun. It really lifted everyone’s spirits.”
Home Ambassador Alicia Bartlett said the visit was part of a wider initiative to support wellbeing through animal therapy.
She added: “Animals have a remarkable way of connecting with people. They bring a sense of calm, comfort and happiness, and they’re also fantastic conversation starters. It’s about more than just a visit; it’s about creating moments of joy and connection. The lambs certainly did that and they brought big smiles to everyone here.”
