The children from Halstead Community Primary School worked alongside Nesbit House residents to create a vibrant display of poppies for the recent Remembrance Day tributes.

And the event, held at the school, was such a success they are doing it all again soon.

Wellbeing & Lifestyle Coordinator Iestyn Gadd said: “It was wonderful to see everyone work together and share ideas.

“Art is a wonderful way to break down barriers and have a bit of fun, we are all determined to do this again soon.”

The children from Halstead Primary School loved using all the materials and particularly loved glueing the red crepe paper.

The event was part of Nesbit House intergenerational activities aimed at creating strong bonds across the generations and within the local community.

Iestyn added: “The children were so well behaved and were so focused on the work. Everyone was delighted to see them and share some stories as well as some creative ideas.

“It was lovely to visit the school and be part of this activity.”
