Registered Care Home Manager
Helena, a dedicated member of the Hamberley team since November 2020, began her career in healthcare as a Registered Nurse after graduating from Sussex Downs School of Nursing in 1982. With two decades at Eastbourne District General Hospital and nearly 20 years as a Registered Care Home Manager including roles with Methodist Homes and Care UK, her expertise is accentuated by international experience with the European Platform of Rehabilitation. Helena also spent time on kibbutzim in Israel and supported the American army in Germany. Outside her leadership role at Abbots Wood Manor, Helena enjoys running in the countryside with her dogs, and supporting her granddaughter with learning to ride her first pony.

Richard began working in the care home sector in 2019 and is the primary contact for families exploring care options. Since joining Hamberley in January 2021, Richard has taken pride in the expansion of the exclusive Homemaker Model and seeing its positive impact on Abbots Wood Manor. Reflecting on his career, Richard wishes that he had discovered and joined the care industry much earlier in his professional journey.
