Residents and staff at Lovell Place Care Home came together to mark World Parkinson’s Day with a meaningful and informative community event focused on awareness, understanding, and support.
We were delighted to welcome Kevin Carter from Face2Face Parkinson’s, who delivered an engaging and insightful talk about Parkinson’s disease. His presentation helped everyone gain a deeper understanding of how Parkinson’s can affect individuals in different ways, as well as the vital support that can be offered to those living with the condition and their families.
The session encouraged open discussion and provided valuable learning for all who attended, highlighting the importance of empathy, knowledge, and community connection when supporting those affected by Parkinson’s.
Alongside this important awareness event, Lovell Place also hosted its Easter family fun morning. Thanks to the generosity and participation of residents, families, and staff, both events helped raise an impressive £100. The funds will be donated directly to Face2Face Parkinson’s, a dedicated charity providing essential support and care to individuals and families affected by the condition.
The team at Lovell Place would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Kevin Carter for taking the time to visit and share his expertise, and to everyone who contributed to the fundraising efforts.
It was a truly inspiring day that combined learning, community spirit, and kindness, all at the heart of life at Lovell Place Care Home.
