Squeals of happiness rang through the corridors of a Fulbourn care home this summer as six adorable Pomeranians arrived for a visit.
Residents and staff at Cambridge Grove Care Home on Cambridge Road were thrilled as Dulcie, Foxy, Winter, Elsa, Ophelia and Dolly bounded in to say hello.
It wasn’t long before heartwarming scenes unfolded as the residents got to cuddle and pet the fluffy sextet, who are all members of the Pawsitive Social Society.
They even took the time to visit people who were in bed, creating magical memories for the overjoyed residents.
Resident Jane Fenton, aged 94, said: “I loved seeing the little dogs and letting them run all over my bed – they definitely made me smile.”
Fellow resident Philip Hodgson, 82, added: “I love all dogs, but these ones are so cute. I really like the grey one called Dulcie.”
Colleagues at Cambridge Grove were quick to heap praise on Lucy Watson, the founder of the Pawsitive Social Society and owner of 12 Pomeranians in total.
Lucy explained: “I started the business by accident - I used to work in a care home and took a couple of the dogs in to visit one day. I then went to neighbouring care homes and the business grew from there. We now visit 120 homes!”
Cambridge Grove’s residents and colleagues are hoping to schedule a return visit to spend time with the Pawsitive Social Society again.
Home Ambassador Amy Milburn said: “It was a pleasure to have the Pomeranians visit us. They were so well behaved and clearly loved being around lots of people.
“Our residents loved the session, and we look forward to welcoming them back again later in the year.”
