Residents from Meryton Place Care Home recently enjoyed a truly memorable and heartwarming outing to Chepstow Races, organised in partnership with Myley. The day was filled with laughter, connection, and meaningful moments as residents experienced a much-loved pastime in great company and beautiful weather.
Gill, Marjorie, Lynn, and Beryl each brought their own unique joy and memories to the day, making the experience even more special. For Gill, the races held a particularly sentimental value, as she fondly recalled enjoying race days with her late husband after retirement, later continuing the tradition with her son. The jumps, in particular, remained her favourite part of the excitement.
Lynn was joined by her partner Keith, whose presence made the day even more meaningful. From the very first race, Lynn was in her element, clearly delighted to be back in an environment so closely connected to her lifelong love of horses and stables.
Marjorie, with her background in dressage and show jumping, deeply appreciated the skill, care, and dedication involved in training the horses, while also enjoying the opportunity to share the experience with her daughter Rachael and son-in-law Andy, who joined the group at the races to make the day even more special.
Beryl added her own spark of energy and friendly competition to the outing, embracing the atmosphere and enjoying every moment of the racing action.
The day was filled with smiles, shared stories, and cherished memories, highlighting the importance of meaningful experiences and personal connection. These are the moments that truly make a difference in everyday life.
A heartfelt thank you goes to Nick from Myley for helping to organise such a special trip and for working closely with the team to make it happen.
A wonderful day of joy, connection, and unforgettable memories for residents of Meryton Place Care Home.
