Time Capsule Celebration at Charrington Manor

Time Capsule Celebration at Charrington Manor

Residents, families and members of the local community came together at Charrington Manor to celebrate four years since the home first opened its doors. The occasion was marked with a time capsule event, bringing together photographs, written reflections and meaningful items that capture life at the home today.

The capsule, carefully prepared and placed during the celebration, offers a snapshot of everyday moments, relationships and experiences that have defined the home since 2022.

The event brought together not only residents and their loved ones, but also neighbours and friends from the surrounding West Byfleet community. Conversations, shared memories and a sense of occasion created a warm and relaxed atmosphere throughout the day.

It was less about ceremony and more about connection, with people reflecting on how the home has grown into a place where relationships feel familiar and everyday life feels settled.

The celebration held an added meaning for one resident in particular. Jean Gable, aged 92, marked her birthday on the same day as the home’s anniversary.

Having been one of the first residents to move into Charrington Manor, her story is closely woven into the home’s own journey.

“It’s wonderful to be celebrating my birthday at the same time as Charrington Manor’s fourth anniversary,” she said. “I’ve been here since the beginning, and it really does feel like home.”

The time capsule itself reflects more than a milestone. It represents the everyday experiences that shape life at Charrington Manor, from friendships formed over shared meals to quiet moments in the garden or conversations with familiar faces.

By capturing these memories, the event offered a way to pause and recognise what makes daily life meaningful, while also creating something that can be revisited in years to come.
