Verwood House Care Home has partnered with Verwood Town Football Club to help local schoolchildren enjoy live football, offering free season tickets to all home matches as part of a wider community initiative.
The scheme allows children to attend games throughout the current and upcoming season, with reduced-price entry for accompanying family members, helping make matchdays more accessible for local families.
Strengthening community connections
The partnership reflects a shared commitment between Verwood House and Verwood Town FC to bring people together and strengthen community spirit across the town.
Martin Gilham, Chairman of Verwood Town FC, said the initiative supports the club’s goal of creating a welcoming, inclusive environment for young supporters and their families — encouraging connection, enjoyment and shared local pride on matchdays.
Each participating child receives a season pass card providing free entry to all home fixtures, while accompanying adults benefit from discounted admission.
Supporting local families and future generations
At Verwood House, being part of the local community is central to how the home operates, not just for residents, but for families, neighbours and future generations.
Alicia Bartlett, Home Ambassador at Verwood House, said the partnership reflects the home’s ongoing commitment to supporting local life and encouraging positive experiences within the town.
Local schools, including Emmanuel Middle School, are taking part in the scheme, giving pupils the opportunity to feel connected to a much-loved local club.
Headteacher Rob Christopher described the initiative as a meaningful way to strengthen links between schools, families and the wider community.
