A team member from Newton House Care Home in Newton Mearns, Glasgow has helped support a local homeless charity following fundraising efforts at the home’s recent community Christmas Fayre.
Wellbeing Assistant Nicole Durrand presented a £140 donation to Help the Homeless Glasgow, a charity she also volunteers with regularly. The funds raised will help provide essential items such as blankets, sleeping bags, food, clothing and toiletries for people experiencing homelessness across the city.
Nicole said:
“The team at Help the Homeless Glasgow were so grateful for the donation, which will help provide practical support for people who really need it. It was lovely to see everyone come together to make it happen.”
The Christmas Fayre brought residents, families, team members and the local community together, raising funds while creating a sociable and festive atmosphere within the home.
Wellbeing and Lifestyle Coach Kerry-Anne McDade praised Nicole’s ongoing commitment:
“We’re incredibly proud of Nicole and the kindness she shows both within the home and the wider community. It reflects the caring and supportive culture we value here at Newton House.”
Help the Homeless Glasgow relies entirely on public donations and volunteer support, providing regular outreach across Glasgow city centre to offer hot food, clothing and essential supplies to those in need.
