Newton House residents spread sunshine through gardening project

Newton House residents spread sunshine through gardening project

Rainy weather didn’t dampen spirits at Newton House Care Home this afternoon, as residents rolled up their sleeves for a heartwarming gardening session with a community twist.

Residents gathered indoors to create a selection of beautiful handmade window boxes, which will soon be gifted to local community organisations to help brighten their spaces.

The activity quickly turned into a team effort, led by resident Betty, whose gardening expertise proved invaluable. When wellbeing assistants admitted they were unsure about exactly what supplies were needed, Betty stepped in with confidence - sending Nicole off armed with a detailed shopping list before guiding Team Newton through the planting process.

Residents carefully arranged flowers and greenery, sharing plenty of laughter and conversation along the way, while showcasing their creativity and teamwork.

The team praised Betty for her fantastic leadership and thanked all members of the gardening club for their hard work and enthusiasm.

The finished window boxes are set to bring a splash of colour and joy to organisations within the local community - proving that even on the rainiest of days, kindness and community spirit can still blossom.
