A spell of warm weather recently brought a relaxed day of outdoor activities to Verwood House Care Home in Verwood, Dorset, with residents making the most of the sunshine in the garden.
The morning began with a creative activity decorating flower pots and small vases using bright paints. With the weather too lovely to stay indoors, the group soon moved outside to continue the activity in the fresh air.
Some residents spent time painting together, while others enjoyed quieter moments reading, completing crosswords or catching up with visiting friends and family.
When there was little interest in baking later in the afternoon, the plans were easily swapped for more time outdoors. Residents stayed in the garden enjoying cake and warm drinks, chatting and reminiscing while playing a few relaxed games together.
Simple afternoons like this are a familiar part of daily life at Verwood House, where time spent together, whether through activities or quiet conversation, helps create the warm and welcoming atmosphere residents and families often comment on.
With birdsong in the background and the first signs of spring appearing in the garden, it was a lovely way to spend time together.
