Storytime came to life for little bookworms when residents at a Patchway care home joined them to celebrate World Book Day.
Pupils from Charlton Wood Primary School spent the morning at Lovell Place Care Home in Sparrowbill Way, where storytelling sparked smiles, laughter and plenty of creative fun.
Children arrived dressed as their favourite characters, including dinosaurs and kings and shared stories with residents while colouring in bookmarks to take home.
Lovell Place resident joined the celebration and said: “I remember reading to my children when they were smaller. It was always a wonderful way of bringing us closer together.”
Lovell Place Wellbeing and Lifestyle Coach Vicky Green added: “What an amazing morning we had celebrating World Book Day.
“We were so excited to welcome the wonderful children from Charlton Wood Primary School and the room was full of smiles, laughter and lots of creativity as everyone enjoyed colouring in bookmarks to take home.
“We had such a lovely time reading together and chatting about all our favourite books. It’s been wonderful to celebrate the magic of books together.”
The visit brought together two generations through a shared love of reading, with residents and pupils enjoying the chance to swap stories and spend time together.
