Members of the Badgers Mount Women’s Institute were recently recognised for their dedication to community work during a special afternoon tea hosted at Nesbit House Care Home in Badgers Mount, near Orpington.
The group gathered in the home’s dining room for an afternoon of conversation, laughter and reflection on their continued contribution to village life. The Badgers Mount WI regularly meets at Nesbit House for its monthly committee meetings and plays an active role in the local community, supporting a range of initiatives, organising events and raising funds for good causes throughout the year.
The gathering also provided an opportunity for members to plan upcoming activities while strengthening their connection with the home and its residents.
Residents and team members were delighted to host the group, with Head Chef Aneil preparing a selection of homemade cakes and sweet treats especially for the occasion.
Aneil said it was a pleasure to see the dining room filled with conversation and a sense of togetherness, adding that moments like these show how food and shared experiences can bring people together and create meaningful connections across the community.
At Nesbit House, welcoming local groups and organisations is an important part of life in the home, helping residents remain connected with the community around them while creating opportunities for conversation, friendship and shared enjoyment.
