Alston House in Eastleigh Raises £300 for Local Food Bank

Residents, families, volunteers and members of the local community gathered at Alston House for a charity cake sale, organised in support of Eastleigh Basics Bank. The event, supported by Eastleigh Rotary Club, created a warm and lively atmosphere throughout the day.

Tables filled with homemade cakes quickly became a focal point, with visitors stopping to chat, share stories and enjoy time together.

From slices of Victoria sponge to flapjacks and chocolate muffins, the selection of cakes reflected the effort and care that had gone into the day.

There was a steady flow of visitors, with conversations unfolding over cups of tea and plates of cake. The event felt less like a fundraiser and more like a shared occasion, where everyone played a part.

Kelly-Marie Adams, wellbeing and lifestyle coach at Alston House, said:
“It’s a huge credit to the Rotary Club and to our residents and families for getting behind this. There was a great atmosphere throughout the day, and it’s fantastic to see everyone come together to support such an important cause.”

The funds raised will go directly to Eastleigh Basics Bank, which provides emergency food supplies and essential items to individuals and families facing hardship across the borough.

The event also highlighted the role of local organisations and volunteers in supporting the community, with the Rotary Club working closely alongside the home to make the day possible.
