A Touch of Paris Comes to Alston House

A Touch of Paris Comes to Alston House

Residents at Alston House Care Home in Eastleigh recently enjoyed an afternoon of colour, music and laughter as the home hosted a Moulin Rouge-inspired entertainment event.

The home on Leigh Road was transformed for the occasion, bringing a touch of Parisian flair to residents as professional performer Belle De Beauvoir delivered a lively cabaret-style show.

The performance created plenty of smiles and conversation among residents, many of whom embraced the opportunity to enjoy something a little different.

Resident Ann said the afternoon was a wonderful reminder that people never lose their sense of fun.

She shared that older people are sometimes assumed to want quiet activities, but many still enjoy trying new experiences, laughing together and making the most of every moment.

Wellbeing Manager Kelly-Marie Adams explained that the event was organised to challenge stereotypes about ageing and to celebrate self-expression, confidence and enjoyment at any stage of life.

She said it was fantastic to see residents talking, laughing and enjoying the glamour of the afternoon together.

The vibrant atmosphere also sparked memories for many residents, with conversations turning to past visits to Paris and the famous Moulin Rouge.

Events like these are an important part of life at Alston House, where activities are designed to encourage connection, creativity and moments of joy shared with others.
