A Relaxing Trip to Holmes Pier Point: Coffee, Cake and Wildlife Watching

Residents from Edwalton Manor Care Home enjoyed a lovely girls’ trip out to Holmes Pier Point, taking in the fresh air, beautiful scenery and a wonderfully relaxed afternoon by the water.

The group spent time enjoying coffee and cake while watching the peaceful wildlife along the waterfront, including elegant swans, ducks and other local birds. The calm surroundings provided the perfect setting for conversation, laughter and a well-earned break from the everyday routine.

Adding to the lively atmosphere, there was plenty to see out on the water, with exciting views of local water sports taking place along the pier. The combination of tranquillity and activity made for a really engaging and enjoyable outing.

One of the highlights of the trip was meeting a friendly new furry companion, Dixie the dog, who quickly stole everyone’s hearts and added an extra touch of joy to the afternoon.

Outings like this are an important part of life at the care home, supporting wellbeing, encouraging social connection and offering residents the chance to enjoy meaningful experiences in the wider community.

It was a truly relaxing and joyful afternoon all round, filled with great company, beautiful views and plenty of smiles.
