Verwood House Care Home has marked a major milestone, celebrating 15 wonderful years of care and connection in the heart of Dorset.
The Ringwood Road home welcomed residents, families, team members, and local community guests, including members of the Rotary Club, for a joyful anniversary celebration filled with music, memories, and shared pride.
Live entertainment was provided by The Shoreline Singers, who performed favourites from across the decades. Their uplifting set had everyone singing along and dancing, including 79-year-old resident David Taylor, who said:
“The decorations, the music, the company, it was all perfect. I haven’t smiled that much in ages.”
Fellow resident Eunice Whipp, aged 91, added:
“It was such a joyful afternoon. Enjoying the music with my family and joining in with the singing made me feel young again.”
The celebration was not only a tribute to the home’s journey, but also to the strong sense of belonging shared by those who live and work there. Home Manager Julie House reflected:
“Fifteen years ago, this home opened its doors with a simple but powerful mission: to provide not just care, but comfort, dignity, and a true sense of belonging. Since then, we’ve become more than a care home, we’ve become a family.”
Home Ambassador Alicia Bartlett shared her thanks to everyone who joined the day:
“It was heartwarming to see our residents, their families, and our wonderful local community come together to celebrate 15 years of dedicated care in Verwood.”
Wellbeing Lead Emilia Turner, who joined the team shortly after the home first opened, added:
“It’s been incredible to see how it’s grown into such a close-knit, caring community. Watching our residents and guests enjoy the music and share stories made it a truly special day.”
The anniversary was a celebration not only of the passing years but of the lasting relationships, laughter, and love that define life at Verwood House.
