Crowds flocked to a spectacular summer fete at a Fulbourn care home and helped raise more than £500 for a vital air ambulance service.
Residents at Cambridge Care Home, Cambridge Road, opened their beautiful gardens to the community for the day in aid of the East Anglian Air Ambulance.
They laid on face painting, music and plenty of refreshments for the delighted guests. Everyone was also particularly enthralled by the amazing birds of prey visiting from The Raptor Foundation.
Cambridge Grove resident Pauline Grant, aged 90, said: “It’s been a fabulous day. So well organised and plenty of things to keep everyone happy. The team have worked hard.”
Elizabeth Day attended as a guest. She said: “We’ve had an absolutely brilliant day – Cambridge Grove never disappoint with their events.”
Other entertainment was provided by Sunset Magic, with face painting and balloon modelling from KJ Entertainment. The raffle and stalls helped raise the cash for the ambulance service.
The service provides helicopter emergency medical services across the English counties of Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire. It’s a charity which provides around-the-clock critical care 365 days a year.
Cambridge Grove Home Ambassador Amy Milburn said: “A huge thank you to everyone for helping us raise the funds for the air ambulance service, it has such a vital role to play in our community.
“We had a fabulous day, plenty of sunshine, smiles, delicious refreshments and super entertainment.”
