Festive Celebrations Bring Christmas Cheer to Hindhead Place

Festive Celebrations Bring Christmas Cheer to Hindhead Place

Residents, families and members of the local community came together at Hindhead Place Care Home for a joyful Christmas celebration filled with music, festive treats and some very special seasonal surprises.

One of the highlights of the day was a surprise visit from Santa Claus, which brought particular delight to resident Peggy, aged 101, who described the moment as a Christmas wish come true.

Community, companionship and seasonal joy

Guests also enjoyed meeting Jimmy the donkey from Guildford’s Dashing Donkey Farm, whose gentle presence created plenty of smiles and memorable moments for residents and visitors alike.

The event reflected the home’s strong connection with the local community, welcoming families, neighbours and friends to share in the festive atmosphere. The celebration also raised £250 for The Hunter Centre, a local charity supporting people living with dementia and their families.

Music, food and shared celebration

Festive refreshments included canapés, mulled wine and mince pies prepared by the home’s chef, James Owen, supported by the wider team who helped create a warm, celebratory atmosphere throughout the home.

Entertainment included performances from local musician Mog, alongside West End singer Leah Harris, whose festive songs and musical favourites helped round off the celebration on a high note.

Life at Hindhead Place

At Hindhead Place, events like these are about more than celebration. They help support connection, maintain traditions and create meaningful shared experiences for residents, families and the wider community throughout the year.
