Creative residents at a local care home left a big impression on members of the Cumnor community when they opened their doors for their inaugural art show.
The group at Chawley Grove Care Home, Cumnor, had made the incredible pieces during arts and crafts sessions over the past few months.
Resident Michael Chilton, who attended the buzzing evening event with his wife Karen, said the whole experience was a treat.
Michael said: “I have had a lovely time. It has been great to see all of the different pieces of artwork. It has felt like an evening out.”
Karen added that the event might even inspire her husband to join the home art sessions in the future.
She said: “Art has a wonderful way of bringing people together and can be so relaxing and enjoyable to create.
“It’s incredible to display the artwork and to share the work with local people.”
Fellow resident John McIntosh, aged 85, added: “The 3D pictures were something that I have not seen before. I have had a thoroughly enjoyable evening.”
Resident Judy Mills, aged 89, added: “The art classes are very fun, and I find it a relaxing time with my friends. We do lots of different things and I really enjoy it.”
During the opening event, everyone also got a chance to enjoy refreshments and make new friends.
Residents also invited artists local Jaqueline Miskar and Landen Romero to exhibit their work.
Chawley Grove Wellbeing Lead, Danni Hudson, said: “One of the highlights was seeing some of the artwork from two young, local artists, Jacqueline and Landon.
“Jacqueline is the daughter of one of our nurses, so to be able to support her was really special. The event proved extremely popular, so watch this space for more dates!”
