Colourful Autumn Wreaths Bring Seasonal Cheer to Verwood House

Colourful Autumn Wreaths Bring Seasonal Cheer to Verwood House

Residents at Verwood House Care Home in Dorset have been embracing the season with a burst of creativity, crafting a stunning display of autumnal wreaths to decorate their home.

The Ringwood Road care home was filled with colour and laughter as residents, alongside friends and family, came together for a lively wreath-making session. Using a beautiful mix of natural and decorative materials, including dried leaves, pinecones, twigs, flowers, and ribbons, the group created an array of unique designs inspired by the rich reds, oranges, and golds of autumn.

Resident Shirley Wiggins, 88, shared:

“This has been such fun and something a bit different to do. I think I did much better than expected!”

The completed wreaths now brighten the home’s communal spaces, spreading seasonal joy and a strong sense of community throughout Verwood House.

Wellbeing Coach Emilia Turner, who led the session, said:

“We didn’t realise how many different styles there could be! Every wreath had a personal touch, and it was a real pleasure to see everyone’s creativity shine.”

The activity forms part of Verwood House’s wider programme of events and experiences designed to help residents stay active, express themselves, and enjoy meaningful time with others.

Home Ambassador Alicia Bartlett added:

“These kinds of projects don’t just brighten our spaces, they bring people together. The laughter, stories, and teamwork make it a truly special experience for everyone.”
