Alston House Proudly Supports the Walk for Dementia 2025

At Alston House Care Home, we are super proud to once again be supporting Dementia Support Hampshire & IOW’s Walk for Dementia this year.

This meaningful event helps raise vital funds and awareness for families living with dementia across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, and we’re honoured to be involved once again. Dementia Support Hampshire & IOW do incredible work across the county, supporting individuals living with dementia and their carers—not only through the events they host themselves but also by signposting people to dementia-friendly activities and community groups in the area. For the past 3–4 years, we’ve found their community offerings to be an invaluable resource and have often directed enquirers to them when the timing isn’t quite right for a care home setting.

We’re proud to be part of this support network, helping to ensure that no one faces dementia alone.

The Walk for Dementia 2025 takes place on Sunday 14th September, starting at 11am from the scenic Warsash Harbour. With seven walking routes to choose from—including a 0.5km accessible, wheelchair-friendly walk and a 12km challenge route—there’s a walk for everyone.

Last year, our sister home Templeton Place proudly sponsored a walk, and we’re excited to share that we've been approached once again this year to sponsor a route on the day—something we are delighted to do.

Whether you’re walking in memory of a loved one, supporting someone close to you, or simply want to make a difference, we invite you to be part of this special day.

Let’s walk together for a brighter future for those living with dementia in our communities.
