What’s On During Open Week

Monday 15th June

Opening Ceremony: Kick Off Around the World

Afternoon session: 2:30pm - 4pm

Flag parade with residents, families and staff, resident captains, a torch ceremony, national anthem singalong, mocktails and international snacks.

Tuesday 16th June

England Day & Golden Oldies Football

Morning session: 10:45am - 12pm

Chair football, penalty shoot-outs and a stadium stroll.

Afternoon session: 2:30pm - 4pm

Shirt designing, crafts, cream tea, pie and mash lunch and football singalongs.

Wednesday 17th June

Italy & Spain Day: Food & Fiesta

Morning session: 10:45am - 12pm

World quiz with flags, trivia and music.

Afternoon session: 2:30pm - 4pm

Pizza making, tapas tasting, mocktails, flamenco scarf dancing and gentle seated dance.

Thursday 18th June

Brazil Carnival Day

Morning session: 10:45am - 12pm

Carnival crafts including masks, maracas and drums.

Afternoon session: 2:30pm - 4pm

Live music, samba dancers, school choir and resident percussion, with tropical refreshments and BBQ-style food in the garden, weather permitting.

Friday 19th June

World Cup Community Day

Morning session: 10:45am - 12pm

Intergenerational games including penalty shoot-outs and balloon football.

Afternoon session: 2:30pm - 4pm

Community café with tea, cakes and football memories board.
