Our Philosophy

Genuine home-like communities so our residents can enjoy an enriching and nurturing lifestyle, making new friendships and memories.

Our Vision

Our vision is to be the leading provider of truly person centred and holistic care in the UK and a driving force of care innovation. Our team will provide ‘all-around care’ by working collaboratively and creating nurturing, homely environments that empower our residents to live meaningful lives.

Person Centred Care

We’re here to support our residents to continue living life in the way that they want to - with as much or as little support as they need. We want everyone to feel at home right from the start. Before our residents move in, we'll get to know them and their relatives and make sure we understand exactly what type of help they are looking for.

We understand that moving into an unfamiliar environment is sometimes difficult. To help ease that transition, and to make sure our residents don’t feel like a guest in their own home, we try to be a uniform-free zone wherever possible. This is a home, first and foremost, and everything is centred around the needs of our residents to ensure we create a relaxing and comfortable environment for them.

Our personalised care plans focus on maintaining lifestyle choices and promoting independence. We’re here to empower our residents to remain an active part of their community, and our team and our designated Wellbeing & Lifestyle Coach ensure that our residents can continue with their hobbies and pastimes, as well as trying new activities.

This unique model of care allows us to provide genuine home-like communities so our residents can enjoy an enriching and nurturing lifestyle, making new friendships and memories.

Our expert Clinical Team, including 24-hour on-site nurses in nursing homes, means that we are ready for when a resident’s care needs change. Whether that is for a short period of time or permanently, our flexible model of care ensures we are always ready to respond with the appropriate level of support.

Innovation

We like to do things a little differently at Hamberley Care Homes. We always strive to innovate and provide an outstanding care experience for every single resident, without exception.

Wherever possible we use leading edge technology and connectivity to improve the quality of our resident’s lives. For example, electronic care plans and hand-held devices provide instant and secure access to information.

Through enabling our team to work more efficiently, they can spend more time with residents and build much more meaningful relationships than the traditional model of care allows.

In addition to using the latest technology to enhance our care delivery, we’ve also removed the hierarchical structure that you would normally find in a care home. Instead we’ve developed a leadership hub and a more dynamic model of working, where staff are universal workers, rather than restricted to only fulfilling certain elements of care provision.

Our unique culture encourages:

  • Empowerment – staff are supported to develop a holistic set of skills and experiences so we remove the gaps from the care experience
  • Continual learning - we recognise that the traditional care model cannot always meet changing care needs so our teams are encouraged to always look for areas that can be improved and are provided with ‘on-the-job’ training to implement those changes
  • Inclusion – residents are involved in our team’s training and are supported to have their say in how services are delivered

QUESTIONS ABOUT CARE

What training do your staff receive?

All members of our team are given the training and support needed to help them provide the highest standards of care. In addition to the statutory training that all care workers have to complete, we also ensure our staff receive bespoke Hamberley specific training in areas that we feel will help staff to provide an outstanding care experience.

Do you cater for specific dietary needs?

Yes we do. We have a wide variety of dishes on our menus and we regularly do meal planning with residents so that we make sure we can cater for their likes and dislikes and all their nutritional needs.

Can a resident bring their own furniture to use in the room?

Yes, we welcome personalisation of our homes and wherever possible residents are encouraged to bring with them their favourite items of furniture. All furniture is subject to suitability and risk assessment.
